Oath Taking Ceremony and 1st DT Session for 3rd LG

On 21st March 2022, Punakha Dzongkhag Administration conducted the Oath Taking Ceremony for newly elected 3rd LG members at Kagaymi Lhakhag. A total of 11 Gups, 11 Mangmis, 49 Tshogpas and 1 Thromde Thuemi attended the program.

After the Oath Taking Ceremony, the 1st Dzongkhag Tsogdu (DT) session for 3rd elected members of the local government of Punakha Dzongkhag commenced today. The session chaired by Dasho Dzongda in the presence of Dasho Drangpen, Dasho SP, Dasho Dzongrab Gom, regional Heads and Dzongkhag sector heads. Minister for Foreign Affairs Lyonpo Tandin Dorji, Deputy Speaker Dasho Tshencho Wangdi and Member of National Council Dasho Lhaki Dolma were also present in the session.

The Dzongkhag Tsogdu elect their Chairperson (Thrizin) and Deputy  chairperson (Thrizin wom). There were three nominees for the post of DT Chairperson and two nominees for the post of DT Dy. Chairperson.

Sonam Dorji, Gup of Kabjisa Gewog elected as Chairperson and Tshering Penjor, Gup of Toepaisa Gewog is elected as Dy. Chairperson.

A Tashi Khadhars were conferred to the new Thrizin and the new Thrizin Wom by Minister for Foreign Affairs Lyonpo Tandin Dorji, Deputy Speaker Dasho Tshencho Wangdi , Member of National Council Dasho Lhaki Dolma , Dasho Dzongda, Dasho Drangpen, Dasho SP, Dasho Dzongrab Gom and subsequently by the Regional Heads and Dzongkhag Sectors Heads.
