If reading is for mind then exercise is surely for body, keeping this thought in mind Pungdzong football team was formed from the ashes of sprit of the footballer who are now spectators with beer bellies. Likewise, In 2007, few enthusiastic player like Tshering Norbu (ADM), Tashi Penjor(DYT) formed the team from scrap when the many young officer were glued to BBs ,BBC and other entertainment channels.
Their team membership was further reinforced by members like sonam Tshering(ICT), Choki(JE).Later in 2008, more player were recruited including Moni Rai(JE, ace striker). Now there are about 16 enthusiastic players under age of 30, who played against the Wangdue school( Army team and ex-national player). Pungdzong team won the game by seven leading goals against 2. Mani Rai scored three goals which was a hat trick, four other goals were scored jointly by Thinley (hat trick) and Tshering Dorji .
