39th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the King

On the joyous occasion, the Zhung Dratshang, civil servants, armed forces, business community and the public of Punakha Dzongkhag joins the nation in celebrating the 39th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk by offering prayers and butter lamp in Kuenrey and Machen Lhakhang by Venerable Laytshog Lopen and Yoen Lopen accompanied by the Dasho Dzongdag and staff of the Dzongkhag. The day was marked with the celebration at Lekithang ground. We offer our deepest respects, heartfelt felicitations and prayers for His Majesty’s long life and prosperous & peaceful reign on the most auspicious and joyous.

The occasion was graced by Honorable Dasho Dzongdag at Lekithang ground. Around thousands of public including staff and the students of Punakha Central School, Ugyen Academy, and Khuruthang Middle Secondary School also attended the celebration. The day ends with mass clean-up drive with theme " NATION BUILDING THROUGH CLEANLINESS" to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King.
