Punakha: State of Readiness for the Poll Day

A two days refresher course for the polling officials of the Punakha Dzongkhag were conducted on the 14th and 15th October 2018 for the National Assembly: General Round Election at Technical Training Institute (TTI), Khuruthang. A two-day long program was chaired by the Chief Election Coordinator of the dzongkhag.

A total of 172 polling officials (30 presiding officers, 30 polling officer I, 30 polling officer II, 30 polling officer III, 30 Lady Securities, 11 polling assistants, and 11 counting officials) were trained for the poll day. Moreover, 74 RBP security personnel and 35 RBA security personnel were also deployed for the poll day along with the polling officials.

Punakha Dzongkhag has 30 polling stations of which 7 stations are temporary sheds.

As of 16th October 2018 evening, all the polling officials were moved to their respective polling stations and it is being confirmed to the Returning Officer's Office on their arrival to their polling stations.

Meanwhile, the office of the Returning Officer has started with the opening of the Postal Ballots Envelopes "A" in front of the party representatives and it will continue till 18th October, 2018.
