As per section 10 of the Tenancy Act 2015, “The owner shall ensure that a rental agreement is executed in writing before occupation of the rental/land lease or at the commencement of the tenancy”. Also, section 11 of the Act states that, “The agreement shall be executed in three original copies; one for each party. The third copy shall be submitted to the concerned Dzongkhag or Dzongkhag Thromde and Gewog office by the owner within two weeks from the date of occupation of the rental unit”.
Therefore, the Dzongkhag Administration Punakha would like to request all the landlords to submit a copy of the rental agreement between the existing tenants and the landlord latest by end of April 2022.
