||Gewog Administrative Officer
Toedwang gewog stretches over an area of 415.65 sq. km as per LCMP 2010 with an altitude ranging from1250-3700m above sea level. There are 454 households in the gewog, which currently hold a population of 2421 people. The gewog comprises of five chiwogs.
It experiences cool winters with warm and humid summers. The gewog has one Lower Secondary School, one primary school, one Basic Health Unit (BHU), one Out Reach Clinic (ORC), one Renewable Natural Resource (RNR) Centre, one Multi purpose hall, one community centre and one hot spring. About 261 households are electrified and 91% of the household have access to clean drinking water. The cooking oil “Pangtse Makhu” is produced in this gewog and people earn income from the sale of “makhu” as well as rice.
With regard to accessibility and communication, the gewog has 42.9 kms of farm road and one suspension bridge. Some of the remotest villages in Toedwang gewog are Tami Damchu, Neptengkha, Chhubu Tsachhu, Kewana and Tsachhu phu. The gewog has a total of seven lhakhangs/temples.
